Economic Inclusion and Resilience

Economic Inclusion and resilience for child caretakers and caregivers Catalysing livelihoods and entrepreneurship

We leverage the two generational model to innovatively offer holistic support to an entire household. Our whole-family approach creates opportunities and addresses the needs of two generations at once. It helps children and parents get the education, training, livelihoods and social supports they need to succeed, and it allows parents the ability to pass on economic security to their children simultaneously building protective factors, resiliency, and parental capacity to enhance child and family well-being and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Our approach seeks to address and interrupt cycles of poverty by creating the foundations for positive educational, economic, and other outcomes that can pass from one generation to the next. These strategies build financial stability in families while acknowledging the overlap between poverty and child welfare system involvement. Poverty and neglect are not the same, and most families experiencing poverty do not abuse or neglect their children. However, families experiencing poverty are faced with the dilemma of providing holistic wellbeing and wellness to children.
